March 2011

The first “Friends of the Osprey” award for 2011 goes out to the Mason, MI Boy Scout Troop 763 for the efforts to build and install two Osprey nesting platforms in the Maple River State Game Area. This photo is of platform number 2.  Aaron Rustem spearheaded this project as part of his requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout.  He and his troop members raised enough money to assemble three complete nesting platforms. Their plan is to donate the third platform to the Michigan DNR.  We applaud their wonderful effort!  A complete photo story of this project is in the 2011 Photo Album. OWSEM was a major financial supporter of this project
